Rooted in the WALAS mission, our annual conference reflects our ongoing commitment to uplifting Latino educators through mentorship, networking, and professional development, while also advancing educational equity for all students, especially those of Latino heritage.
NOW ACCEPTING: Speaker Proposals
The call for speaker proposals for the WALAS Annual Conference is now open! The 5th Annual WALAS Conference will take place October 23 & 24 in Kennewick, WA.
We invite educators, leaders, aspiring administrators, and community partners to share their expertise and experiences. This year’s theme, Liderazgo con Ganas: Passion, Purpose, and Perseverance, calls us to lead with corazón, clarity, and courage.
We’re seeking interactive, practice-oriented sessions aligned to our conference strands. Lead presenters will receive complimentary conference registration.

This year’s conference will be held at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, Washington on October 23-24, 2026 with Montserrat Garibay, Former Assistant Deputy Secretary, US Department of Education under Miguel Cardona and currently a candidate for the Texas House from the Austin area as our Keynote Speaker.
